What is LVT flooring?

LVT flooring is currently one of the hottest products in the flooring market, and its applications in commercial facilities, hospitals and home furnishings have grown rapidly. Not only does it squeeze the market share of other products in polyethylene flooring, it also squeezes the share of products such as hardwood flooring, ceramic tiles and even carpets. One of the advantages of LVT is that it has a very high degree of imitation.

The surface texture and embossed effect make it almost indistinguishable from the imitation object. In addition, LVT is very different from traditional plastic floor leather, made of thicker plates, with shapes and sizes that conform to popular specifications. LVT luxury vinyl flooring also has thoughtful considerations in terms of installation. Or adopt a certain overlap structure, or adopt self-adhesive technology, or directly adhere to the floor substrate and can also be equipped with a special bottom layer to meet various requirements.

LVT flooring production process

In the middle of the last century, Kentile first introduced polyethylene floor tiles. In the past 10 years, LVT's innovations in design and performance have increased the development potential of such products. Over the past few decades, LVT luxury vinyl flooring in the US market has relied heavily on imports. There are several domestic manufacturers. Some companies that operate LVT cooperate with foreign manufacturers. Many LVT products are manufactured in Asia. Many products in Asia are low-cost, but there are also some high-priced products and designs that are comparable to Western products.

LVT flooring has important advantages for various ground materials

Compared with ceramic tiles, they are comparable in terms of color, texture, resolution, and simulation effects, but LVT is lighter, more flexible, warmer, more comfortable on foot, and cheaper, and easier to install. Compared with hardwood flooring, the visual effect is the same, but LVT performance is much better, easy to maintain, not easy to be scratched and scratched, and the price is low, especially compared with imported high-priced wood. LVT plank flooring price is reasonable compared with other flooring materials. Compared with VCT, the upfront cost of VCT is much lower, but the maintenance requirements are much higher, and the design is much worse. Therefore, in the commercial field, the predicament of VCT is mainly caused by the rise of LVT. In the domestic field, LVT's growing market share mainly comes from floor leather, because the simulation effect of LVT cannot be compared with floor leather.

Compared with laminate flooring, the two have many similarities. They are deliberately imitating natural materials, mainly wood, with similar dimensions and specifications, and can be installed without glue. Laminate flooring is cheaper and more scratch resistant. However, the core layer of laminate flooring is fiberboard, which is more sensitive to changes in humidity, and if the sound insulation treatment is not done, the sound is crisp, but LVT does not have these problems. So LVT has been accepted by the commercial market, and laminate flooring has not yet been established there.
